Stamps were first issued in 1907 in the British Solomon
Islands.

1907-1963 (best period to
collect)
Nice
country to collect with only about 150 stamps issued
between 1907 and 1963. Most of the stamps have good
designs and the harder to find stamps are not to highly
priced.
One of the rarest
stamps from this period is the One Pound stamp SG38 issued
between 1914-23, price for this stamp in good mint
condition is around
£200.

Two nice sets in this reign, the
first being the 1907 large Canoe set with a combined
catalogue value of £250. A year later came the 1908 small
Canoe set of 11 stamps with a value of £180 in mint and
£225 in used condition.
King George
V
Four sets issued in the reign,
easily the best being the 1914-1923 set of 14
stamps, with the highest value £1 stamp SG38 being the
most expensive at £250 in mint
condition.

Vl
Just one nice set from this period
the 1939-1951 set of 13 stamps with the 5/- being the
hardest to find and valued at £32 in mint. Oddly enough
the highest value in this set the 10/- SG72 is one of the
least valuable at only
£4.
Queen Elizabeth
ll
The first set of this reign is easily
the best, issued between 1956-1963 consisting of 17
stamps with the £1 black and blue stamp SG96 being the
most expensive at £30.
