First stamps issued by Canada were in 1868 and then right through to the present day.

Stamps from some of the provinces were issued from 1851Canada Stamp

Since 1867 the provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland have all been added to Canada.

Lots of wonderful stamps to collect from this vast area, many rare items including the 1897 Jubilee set up to 5 Dollars, very hard to find in good mint condition and most of the used high values have very heavy cancellations.

Good country to collect and also invest in, try not to pay more than 50% of catalogue.

Queen Victoria

The first stamps were issued in 1851.  All the stamps between 1851 and 1857 are really too expensive for the majority of people to collect.  In 1859 there were a number of various stamps issued, with values up to 17 Cents and all are avidly collected with prices rising steadily.

In 1867 the Dominion of Canada was formed and the first stamps were issued  in 1868. The most well known set being the Jubilee set of 1897 which consisted of 16 stamps, with a combined catalogue value of £4,000.

King Edward Vll

Two nice sets were issued during this period, the first being issued in 1903 and has 7 stamps with a value of £800. The second set which was the Quebec Tercentenary came out in 1908 and consisted of 8 stamps with a catalogue value of £375.

King George V

Some very good stamps were issued during the reign of George V the best being the 1911-1922 set of 8 stamps with a combined value of £225.

King George Vl

Two nice sets during this reign the first being the 1937-1938 set of 11 stamps with a value £150. The other set was issued in 1942 and had 14 stamps, with values between one Cent and one Dollar, the whole set is valued at £130.

Queen Elizabeth ll

Lots and lots of stamps have been issued and are being issued during this reign, nothing of note stands out for todays collector.
