The
first stamps issued were in 1922 (17th February) the set
consisted of 8 stamps with the 10d being the highest
value. The same year, 3 high values were issued
with the set being worth £225 in mint and £550 in used.
All the early Irish stamps were overprints on stamps from
Great Britain. The first proper Irish
definitive stamps were issued on the 6th December
1922 and continued till 1934. A second high value
set issued in 1927-28 consisted of 3 stamps overprinted
from Great Britain, this set is worth £275 in mint and
£325 in
used condition.
King George
Vl
The
best stamps from this reign were the high values issued
on the 8th September 1937, a 3 value set 2/6, 5/-
and 10/- with a price of over £400 in mint
condition. A large definitive set of 17 stamps was
issued between 1940-68 with a total value of £100 plus in
mint condition. Lots of other small sets were
issued between
1937-52.

Many
sets were issued during this period but nothing of great
value.
